HALTON SECONDARY OCCASIONAL TEACHERS PURPOSE

H.S.O.T is an affiliate of OSSTF District 20.We represent approximately 600 short and long term occasional teachers. Our members are employed by the Halton District School Board serving seventeen high schools in the communities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville. They are fully qualified and accredited by the Ontario College of Teachers.  Occasional teachers perform the duties of teachers absent due to illness (both short and long term) and leaves of absence. Our goal is to provide seamless continuity of the curriculum for students on behalf of the absent teacher.
