Health and Safety

Preventing work-related illness and injury is the most important job at any workplace.  OSSTF-D20 believes that every employee deserves to return home each day safe and healthy. Working in conjunction with the The Occupational Health and Safety Act, OSSTF District 20 welcomes the mandates that an employer establish a Joint Health and Safety Committee in the workplace. The most effective JHSC represents all employee groups / bargaining units working together with the Board’s management members on the same joint committee.  Our member’s hard-fought benefits, health and safety awareness, as well as education, are key factors to this wellness objective.
